For nearly five decades, AOP’s Omicron Chapter has called UT’s Panhellenic Building on Cumberland Avenue home, along with her sister Panhellenic organizations.

The Panhellenic Building - Knoxville, TennesseeWhen the Panhellenic Building was built in the 1960s, each sorority suite was meant to accommodate chapter memberships of approximately 50 women. Today, many Panhellenic groups include member rosters of nearly three to four times that number. AOP alone counts some 160 active members in Omicron Chapter.

In addition to a massive overcrowding situation, structural issues of the existing Panhellenic Building present a range of challenges for all sororities housed there. In short, the Panhellenic Building has long outlived its original purpose.

The 13-acre sorority village will be located on the corner of Neyland Drive and Kingston Pike.
